Black Country Geological Society
The Black Country Geological Society is based in Dudley, West Midlands, England and is an Affiliated Society of the Geologists’ Association. The Society holds regular meetings to listen to invited lecturers each month with these indoor meetings taking place during the winter on a Monday evening at The Lamp Tavern. We also hold monthly field meetings usually on Saturday's or Sundays during the summer.
Geoconservation days are also arranged during the winter months, where members help to clear vegetation from overgrown local geological sites. Members receive a newsletter every 2 months with articles of geological interest and details of what’s happening around our region.
The Society welcomes guests and new members, and there is a small admittance charge for events, so come and try us out. It is advisable to contact us before attending in case of last minute schedule changes.

Cost Information:
The cost of trying out one of our meetings is £1.00 Our annual membership subscription is £5.00 for students, £20.00 for individual membership and £30.00 for family membership. Meetings are free for members.
