Job Title:
Pipe Major
We are a traditional highland pipe band, originally formed in the 1960's as the Wednesfield Sea Scout and Ranger Pipe Band although, as a result of the expanding membership, the name was changed to Wolverhampton Pipe Band in the 1970's.
Originally a very successful competition pipe band, the band has refocussed its activities over recent years and now operates as a social/community band performing at functions around the region. The band has participated in the Kingswinford Royal British Legion Remembrance Day parade for over 40 consecutive years. We also provide solo pipers for private engagements (weddings, funerals, Burns suppers, etc).
We teach both bagpipes and drums to anyone over the age of 10 who is interested in learning and hold dedicated learner sessions as part of our practices.
