4 July 2026. It’s the end of the world. The last two people alive meet, face to face, to address their past. Shadow is a man who seems to have loved every woman in the universe, but could never tell Robyn how he felt about her. Edmund is a man eaten up by repression and self-hatred, who married Robyn just to prove that he could. Without her here, Edmund is forced to confront the fact he might just have a heart.
The script switches between the present and flashbacks to times both Shadow and Edmund spent with Robyn. It follows the journey of the doomed love triangle, including an emotionally abusive marriage, highlighting the slow, corrosive process of gas lighting and how a charming man can become a monster behind closed doors. Shadow, meanwhile, is a champion for sex positivity and self-affirmation, oblivious to what Robyn is going through.
It’s wild, it’s honest, it’s painful, funny and touching, and it is an absolute joy!
This is a dynamic and exciting new piece of theatre crafted by local playwright Shadow Liptrot (also known as Laura Liptrot) and is a spin off from their space-fantasy-romance book series The Garden of Time, published by Tenebrous Texts.
This show is 18+ and contains sensitive themes - please contact for more details.
