Side by Side Theatre Company, Stourbridge gives learning disabled people the opportunity to explore their potential through professional guidance in the performing arts.

Side by Side helps learning disabled people develop:-

Vocal clarity, concentration, physical and mental energy, a sense of rhythm, improved vocabulary, improved memory, self confidence, self expression, and improved posture.

And skills in:-

Creativity, stage presence, role play, characterisation, mime, physical theatre, sound & visual media, podcasting, film making, group cooperation, taking on challenges, decision making, planning ahead, and many more life skills.

Established in 1997, the company have won numerous awards for their very professional and unique performances. They constantly push back the boundaries and challenge the perception of learning disability. They have performed to great acclaim in many places throughout the UK, including many times at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. They have also taken productions to Sweden and Prague.

In 2013 they were awarded The Queen's award for voluntary service. In the same year they were chosen by the Royal Shakespeare Company to be part of their Open stages project. They performed at the Courtyard Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon. In 2015 they were chosen for the second time to be part of the project and performed at the RSC Swan theatre in June of that year. They continue to be part of the RSC Open Stages Project.

Side by Side put on a major production at Stourbridge Town Hall, in June, every year, as well as performances at the SideSpace. They enter theatre festivals, performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and touring.
