Mentor Link is a children's charity dedicated to providing long-term one-to-one social and emotional support to vulnerable and distressed children and young people by providing them with volunteer mentor during difficult times in their lives. Our vision is a world where children and young people feel valued and supported. The wellbeing of the those we support forms the focus of our work.
Locally and safely recruited, we train our mentors to offer support to those in need weekly across the West Midlands, in schools. Mentors provide long-term, one-to-one confidential listening support for an hour each week based on the needs of the mentee. Difficulties faced may include anxiety, self-harm and low-level mental health issues; low self-esteem and confidence; bullying, traumatic bereavement; and family breakdown. The aim of mentoring is to help these young people achieve positive changes both personally and educationally, and remain engaged with their education, families and community.
Please get in touch if you would like to volunteer as a mentor.
We encourage enquiries from schools, parents and other referral organisations who would like to hear more about our service.
