Play therapy is a child-centred therapeutic approach that supports children to express and process their thoughts, feelings and experiences through play. It is particularly effective for children who may find it difficult to communicate verbally, including those with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Through a consistent, safe and supportive therapeutic relationship, children are helped to develop emotional awareness, improve regulation, build resilience and strengthen relationships. Sessions are tailored to the individual child and delivered in a confidential, developmentally appropriate way.
