A small committee arranges horticultural, environmental and community enhancement in and around Halesowen town centre. Money is raised from shops, businesses and public to provide floral displays in hanging baskets and planters. Volunteers, community groups, businesses and schools undertake improvement work, such as tidying, painting and planting bulbs and flower plants.
Halesowen in Bloom entered the Royal Horticultural Society(RHS) 'National In Bloom' contest in 2014 and were awarded a Silver Gilt medal. Gold medals were awarded for the 2015, 2016 and 2017 entries. Winning the category in 2017 getting through to the national competition, winning another gold medal in 2018 as well as winning the national Britain in Bloom competition. We then went onto qualify for the international competition representing the UK, winning gold in 2019 and coming 3rd in the world for communities in bloom.
Our latest achievement is to be awarded The Kings Award for Voluntary Service in 2024.
