Halesowen and Dudley Yemeni Community Association (HDYCA) seeks to represent and meet the particular needs of Yemeni, Arabic speaking communities and ethnic groups in the Borough of Dudley as well as extending its services and activities to other disadvantaged communities within the local area.
HDYCA achieves this by providing services to those available in the mainstream sector and also by acting as an interface/contact point between the community and various service providers.
Our services and activities are benefited by those who tends to be of low employment and of low skills base due to language and cultural barriers which make it difficult for them to access mainstream services and organisations. HDYCA works together and has partnerships with local authorities such as Dudley MBC, West Midland Police, DCVS, NHS and local Schools, colleges and faith churches. Our services and activities deliver in our centre include:
Advice and guidance,
Arabic GCSE for year 10 and 11,
Social and recreational gathering/awareness,
Health and fitness awareness sessions for women,
Job Search,
Youth club for Boys and Girls 11-18 years old (25 with Disabilities),
Room hire facilities,
Sewing Classes for women,
Arabic Language Classes 5-15/16 Years old Boys and Girls,
IT learning suite,
Family mediation,
Friday (Jumma) sermon Arabic and English + awareness lecture,
Exercise Classes for women,
Confidence building workshops,
Translation/interpreting,
Bereavement support,
Esol Classes via (Halesowen College)
Community outings,
Quran and Arabic Classes for women,
Third party reporting centr.
Halesowen Cultural Centre is a Registered venue for Islamic Marriage (Nikah) and Civil service, Your Health Dudley - group NHS and NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme - group.
