At Dudley Zoo and Castle there’s a chance to get closer to the world’s rarest animals.
Visitors can discover the magic of tigers, lions, lemurs and penguins with exciting new experiences at the award winning West Midlands, UK tourist attraction.
Lemur Wood is home to more than 30 of the enigmatic creatures and there’s an opportunity to meet ring tailed, collared, black and white and red ruffed species as they greet visitors to their one acre woodland home, while at wallaby walkthrough there’s a chance to get really close to family groups of these mini marsupials.
At DZC you’ll see some of the world’s most endangered animals, many of them face an uncertain future in the wild, but thanks to our successful breeding and conservation schemes these magnificent creatures have survived. Our big cats are very precious. We have a snow leopard and our two Asiatic lions are the pride of Dudley and roam a one acre paddock. Meet Sumatran tiger, Daseep, and her playmate, Joao.
We also hold a daily birds of prey display in the courtyard of the 11th century Dudley castle, in the heart of DZC. Feed the colourful Rainbow lorikeets pots of nectar in lorikeet lookout.
For younger zoo crew members there’s a whole animal kingdom to discover down on the farm where you can meet rabbits and guinea pigs and say hello to micro pigs and pygmy goats.
DZC has something to offer all the family. Join our keeper for a day scheme where visitors shadow keepers throughout the day. Try our close encounters where you can feed giraffes, lemurs, big cats and tapirs, too.
And as a lasting memento of a very special day why not adopt one of our endangered species and help worldwide conservation. Don’t just take our word for it, visit Dudley Zoo and Castle and see for yourself. It’s a great day out for all the family!
