Dudley Home Improvement Service - We provide an Adaptations and Emergency Repairs service to enable residents to live independently in warm, safe and secure homes..
Adaptations (All tenures)
We assist Dudley residents to adapt their home to enable them to live with more independence We offer help to people of all ages who have needs arising from or are related to a physical or mental impairment or illness.
Do you know somebody who is struggling to:
- get in/out of the bath? climb their stairs? access their property safely?
Types of work available (subject to an assessment by council’s Occupational Therapy Service):
- stair lifts, wet rooms, ramps, ground floor extensions.
Grants are available however funding for major adaptations will vary based upon individual circumstances. The Home Improvement Service will manage any major adaptations from initially surveying the property, drawing a specification, finding reputable contractors right through to supervising the works and ensuring they are completed satisfactorily.
Repairs (Homeowners or private tenants with a repair obligation).
We assist homeowners on a low income to apply for grants to carry out essential repairs to enable them to live safe and warm in their homes. Grants are available for boilers, windows, roof, electrics.
