Everyone who enjoys singing is very welcome. There is no audition for singers, just come to a rehearsal and see how you get on. Every 2 or 3 years we give a concert in Europe. In 2013 we went to Dinard in Brittany and visited Ghent (Belgium) in 2018. We have been to France, Germany and Spain in recent years and are to go to Boppard on the Rhine, in May 2024 Plenty of social events too! We wish to recruit new members.
We are looking for soprano, alto, tenor and bass voices to celebrate the beautiful music of the classical as well as modern composers. Our concerts recently have included music by Bach, John Rutter, Mendelssohn, Mozart and Purcell.
We invite friends to an informal summer workshop when we have sung Faure's tuneful Requiem, Handel Coronation Anthems and some less formal songs. This year's will be on Saturday 13th July at 2.00pm in St James's Church, Eve Hill. Give me a ring to find out more!
Our next concert, for which we are rehearsing now, is to include some sacred choral music, including Haydn's Little Organ Mass and Mendelssohn's Hear My Prayer. The second half will be of secular music: folk songs and madrigals.The concert will be on Saturday 11th May, 7.30pm in St James's Church.
Our music director/conductor, is an experienced musician and choral conductor from Dudley, Gary Cole.
There will be a Christmas concert on Saturday 14th December, with carols for choir and audience.
It's great to have live singing again and to look forward to live concerts. Our next concert is to be on May 11th 2024 at 7.30pm in St James's Church, Dudley, DY1 3JA. Be part of it!
