We run free monthly online meet up groups for people living with diabetes and for those wanting to manage their health and wellbeing. We talk about the day to day things that make living with long term conditions such as Diabetes that little bit easier.
Our ‘One Less Challenge’ online events are hugely successful for educating community members on diabetes nutrition and encouraging them to improve their levels of movement. The more that someone with diabetes understands the condition, the more empowered they are to deal with it.
Such meet-up groups provide a safe space for people to voice their concerns, frustrations, and experiences living with diabetes. People living with diabetes often carry stressors that are not always recognised by society. Therefore, having a space where everyone feels understood is really powerful.
Cuppa Squad (formerly Steps to Your Healthy Future) continues to foster connections through virtual meetings online.
What does success look like for a diabetes education program? The key is empowering people to translate the knowledge they receive and apply it to their lives.
Cuppa Squad has over the years reached out to many diverse communities. Our interactive programs have resulted in the development of better teaching tools as participants help us find gaps that we as teachers and facilitators were unaware of, thus, taking us all on a positive and productive learning journey.
Our free 1 hour sessions have proved very supportive, providing the opportunity for people to talk, relax, discussing their concerns and worries with like-minded people, be it weight loss, or learning the right questions to ask their GP. We would love you to join us and share your thoughts, worries and stories. Friends, family and carers are also welcome.
Simply email us at hello@cuppasquad.org to express your interest or to learn more.
