A Child of Mine - Supporting Bereaved Parents

A Child of Mine - Supporting Bereaved Parents

Self Help/Support Groups

A Child of Mine is a small but passionate charity supporting families after the most unimaginable loss, when a child dies.  We are a local Stafford based charity with a national influence and provide emotional and practical support to bereaved parents and their families across Staffordshire and the West Midlands. We work in partnership with health care professionals to help improve care and support available when a child dies.

Family Support

A Child of Mine offers confidential peer support, information, guidance, and a listening ear to any family who has lost a child or baby at any age or gestation, and from any circumstance.  Across Staffordshire we provide 1-2-1 emotional peer support, various peer group sessions, including specific groups for miscarriage, baby loss, child loss and those that have lost an adult child. We also offer groups for both younger and older bereaved children who have suffered the loss of a sibling.

More recently we have established 2 peer support groups for bereaved parents and bereaved grandparents in partnership with Birmingham Children's Hospital.

For any family outside of Staffordshire, we can provide telephone or video call support, and signposting to other local organisations and charities.

If you would like to know more about how we can help and support, please do not hesitate to contact our telephone helpline on 07803 751229 or visit our website www.achildofmine.org.uk
