The BeeHIVe Project is central to providing support to members of the LGBTQ+ community living in the Dudley Borough. We aim to make Dudley a great place for this community to thrive.
BeeHIVe offers a range of services to the LGBTQ+ community, including counselling, advice work, support groups and sexual health screening. All of which are free, confidential and non-judgemental. Our support groups provide a safe and friendly environment to receive support, or meet others from the community. Past meetings have included inviting guest speakers along, discussing topics such as anxiety and hate crimes, and arts and crafts activities just to name a few!
Our sexual health screening is composed of two tests. The first is a test for HIV and Syphilis, the second is for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea. Tests are available to anyone 16+ at The What? Centre in Dudley. We also carry out testing in the community, for example at colleges, GP surgeries and community centres.
Another of the main aims of the BeeHIVe project, is to support people living with or affected by HIV. We facilitate a HIV support group, allowing people to receive support, access therapy and drop in sessions. Counselling is also available free of charge for anyone living with HIV.
