Professional artist, cartoonist, comedy novelist and humorous speaker for all manner of societies, colleges and schools. He will also visit educational establishments and speak to the art or writing students, set projects, demonstrate etc.
Geoff was recently honoured with a 20 week long exhibition of his lifetime's work at Himley Hall, entitled, '40 Years Spent Watching Paint Dry!' He is also one of the 100 Black Country Masters, experts in their chosen subject that were voted for by the public for being inspirational within the community.
He was equally thrilled that his younger brother, David, the 2015 UK Comedy Playwright of the Year and creator of national treasure, Doreen Tipton, was also one of the 100 people awarded the honour! He also gives a talk, by the way! david@flyingducks.biz for details.
In 2016, Geoff was commissioned by Stratford-upon-Avon Town and District Councils to create the official 400th Anniversary Portrait of William Shakespeare. After creating some 30,000 advertising and publishing illustrations, cartoons, portraits and pieces of fine art over a 40 year period, he ranks this as his proudest moment. Not bad for a chap from Quarry Bonk, as he always says!
As if all this wasn't enough for one person, he has also written 15 comedy novels and a coffee table book about Dudley's legendary rock club, JB's. Geoff's latest book is called A Lifetime Spent Watching Paint Dry. It's a hilarious (and often poignant) autobiography with many pages of photographs, detailing Geoff's journey from scatterbrained, artistic and musical Black Country child to famous artist. You'll be pleased to know he's still a scatterbrained chaos magnet with a killer sense of humour, and unlike some folks, he welcomes fools gladly! His current illustrated talk is an extremely funny history of his 44 year career, peppered with laugh-out-loud anecdotes about the many trials of being a professional artist. he's actually trying to retire now but no-one wil let him.
The talk is between an hour and an hour and a half long, depending on how often he is heckled! Bit longer than some, but time flies when you're having fun! or you could hire someone to do a 30 minute talk about their recent holiday to Portugal. Your choice.
