20 October 2025. As part of Dudley History Festival we welcome Ned Williams with his talk titled A Furriner’s view of Netherton.
Ned came to the Black Country in 1962 without knowing anything about the area. Based in Dudley, he immediately started exploring and over half a century later he is still exploring. Ned has shared his enthusiasm and information about the many interesting towns, villages and communities of the Black Country in over 50 books. This looks at what he discovered in Netherton. The talk is not so much a detailed history of Netherton, more a well-illustrated account of what "a furriner" might discover as an intrepid explorer.
