Little Learning Barn - Day Centre
Little Learning Barn - Day Centre
Day Support/evening support
Little Learning Barn is a small, friendly skills provider and day centre service for adults in Halesowen and surrounding areas. Situated at St Margaret's Meadow Farm we provide a service for people with learning disabilities and mental health issues to attend the farm as part of a structured skill based programme, not only learning farm skills but also life skills to assist with independent living. Placements are practical yet person centred to allow people to be hands on with the animals whilst working towards developing social skills, building resillience, maintaining relationships and general basic farm skills.
St Margaret’s Meadow Farm is home to rabbits, chickens, ducks, turkey's, geese, cats, goats, pigs, sheep, horses, alpacas and a donkey. Daily farm tasks include feeding the animals, Visually checking animals, giving fresh water, filling hay nets, collecting and washing eggs and putting them for sale in the shop and everyone's favourite - poop scooping!
Other activities include horse grooming, goat walking, building planters, planting plants, minor fence repairs, painting, budgeting, basic IT skills, cleaning and animal knowledge.
