Laughter Yoga with Merrie Maggie - Wordsley

Laughter Yoga with Merrie Maggie - Wordsley

In Laughter Yoga sessions, participants laugh for no reason from the joy within themselves rather than through jokes, humour or comedy, releasing their inner child. It elevates mood, reduces stress, energises, improves the immune system and is a great connector of people in a caring and sharing manner.

I have resurrected the monthly Laughter Yoga sessions at Wordsley Community Centre, The Green, Wordsley, Stourbridge, DY8 5BN and these will generally take place on the 2nd Monday of the month from 7.00pm.

In the meantime, since lockdown I have been running sessions via Zoom on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5.00pm every week. These run for 20 to 30 minutes and include many of my regular participants who have found the continuing availability to practice has helped their wellbeing enormously throughout these difficult time. The sessions are open for people to join, please contact me for the current Zoom link and the password to gain entry.

It is free for people to participate and I am always grateful to receive donations between £3 and £5 via

General Notes

I run monthly Laughter Yoga sessions at Wordsley Community Centre, The Green, Wordsley, Stourbridge, DY8 5BN from 7.00 pm. These take place generally on the 2nd Monday each month and the sessions last for one hour.

Laughter Yoga is a physical exercise where we 'role-play' every day activities with laughter and is combined with deep breathing (from Yoga). Also in between the exercises we have energising hand claps and chants to transition from one exercise to the next.

It is a very uplifting activity that elevates the mood, connects participants with each other, boosts the immune system through Endorphins released from the brain and encourages participants to have a positive mental attitude and build their resilience to cope with everyday challenges.

The sessions take place inside the Community Centre where I have to pay to hire the room so I am grateful for donations of £5.00 per person.
