The Lace Guild CIO is the largest organisation for lacemakers in the British Isles, and our membership is international. Our aims are to provide information about the craft of lacemaking, its history and use; to promote a high standard of lacemaking; and to encourage design, development and professional presentation of lace. We do this through our magazine, ‘Lace’, the books we publish, the courses we run, our assessment scheme, and a periodic major competition and exhibition. The Lace Guild has probably the most comprehensive lace library in the world, and our collection of lace and lace-related items has been recognised by the award of registered museum status.
