18 September 2026. The event is called 'It Takes a Community'.
It marks the launch of my second book in the Didn’t Anyone Ever Tell You? series, titled Never Trust a Fart: Surviving and Beating Bowel Cancer.
Almost two years ago, I underwent surgery following my bowel cancer diagnosis. It was a journey that tested me physically, mentally and emotionally. Thankfully, today, I can say that I am cancer free.
But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this.
None of us gets through life’s toughest moments alone.
Family, friends, healthcare professionals, charities, faith groups, neighbours, colleagues and even complete strangers all played their part in helping me navigate one of the biggest challenges of my life.
It really does take a community.
This event is my chance to say thank you and to shine a light on some of the incredible organisations and groups that support people and their loved ones through a cancer diagnosis. Representatives from a number of those groups will be joining us and sharing the difference they make every single day.
There will also be the opportunity to:
Purchase signed copies of both of my books
Grab a photo and have a chat
Support a wonderful cause, with 50% of all book sales on the day being donated to the hospital charity that means so much to me
I’m also hugely grateful to Matt Booton for sponsoring the event and helping make it possible.
Tickets are free, but numbers are limited. If you’d like to join us, please book using the Eventbrite link below. And if your plans change, I’d really appreciate you cancelling your ticket so someone else can take your place.
Thank you for the incredible support you’ve shown me throughout this journey. I honestly couldn’t have done it without you.
I can’t wait to see many of you there.
