Friends of Saltwells Nature Reserve (FOSNR) are a voluntary group consisting of members of the public who wish to preserve and enhance the nature reserve for the benefit of the local community and all who use it, working alongside the wardens of the reserve. Awarded The Kings Award for Vountary Services 2024.
We offer several events and activities on site at Saltwells throughout the year. Most of these events are free and many of them are family friendly. Some of our events include:
Come and See: walks and talks to find out about the nature reserve and witness its changes through the seasons
Come and Create: fun and inspirational family friendly events including nature themed crafts and activities
Come and Explore: full day walks reaching every corner of Saltwells and out to other local nature reserves
Conservation group: monthly volunteering undertaking seasonal tasks
Come and Seek: orienteering inspired events and discovery trails
Come and Chat: open door sessions for refreshments and information
FOSNR Litterpickers: a friendly litter picking group helping to keep the reserve tidy and welcoming for all visitors and wildlife
For a list of our upcoming events, see the links below to our website and/or social media pages. You can also find a copy of the events list and a map of the reserve on our noticeboard at the entrance to the car park (DY2 0BY).
