Freetime Care was born out of a deep frustration and sense of injustice that ‘care in the community’ was not being carried out effectively, with the best interests of the individual and family being taken into account, or being provided to the highest of professional standards.
From humble beginnings in 2002 (just two rented rooms) we have grown steadily, learning some hard lessons along the way.
We moved to our existing premises in 2014, continuing to provide a specialist (1:1 or 2:1 support) day care service to adults with a learning disability and/or autism.
We launched a second business – Freetime Plus in 2019 offering respite care in two self-contained bungalows.
But our story doesn’t end there.
We’re on a journey to lead from the front in providing not just an exceptional level of service, but an extraordinary one. Our mission is to build a vibrant community of care and compassion through a bespoke, specialist and sustainable approach that nurtures the individual and promotes a sense of purpose, creating opportunities for all within our community.

Please contact us to find out our cost per hour for 1:1 and 2:1 support. Our cost covers transport, food and a wide range of inhouse activities.
A contribution is required towards some community activities.

Uniquely, we have a fleet of specialised vehicles, to ensure we can collect individuals from home, access the community and drop them back home.

You can contact us directly to come and visit and learn about our service. Individuals are usually funded via a Direct Payment which is accessed via their Local Authority.
We also support individuals funded via NHS Continuing Healthcare.
