If your child is due to start primary school in September 2026 then you will have to apply for a school place between 1 October 2025 and 15 January 2026.
You must complete an application form either online or by completing the application form provided by your local authority.

You should not assume that your child will get a place at a new school without you having to apply, even if you have an older child already attending the same school.
