Do you have a knowledge of sewing and now want to rekindle your skill or dive into the world of making your own clothes but feel you need some guidance and motivation? Then our “Dressmaking and Fashion sewing - moving on” is ideal for you.
You will be able to build on the skills learned on our beginners’ course or through previous experience and gain confidence in your projects
We are a friendly group who share our knowledge and skills to enable you to get the best out of your 2 hours sewing time.
Our tutor can help you adapt your dressmaking pattern to get a more individual fit. It may mean that you make a “toile” which is a practice garment that sorts out any measurement issues before you cut at your garment fabric - a really worthwhile skill to perfect.
You will need to purchase and bring along your chosen pattern, fabric and haberdashery but our tutor will contact you to discuss your ideas or requests prior to you making any expensive purchases.
We also encourage you to bring your own sewing kit consisting of sewing needles, thread, tape measure, stitch ripper, pins, scissors (large and small), pens, pencils, ruler, tailors chalk.
We provide sewing machines at and over lockers for use so that you do not have to provide your own to attend the class.
