17 May 2025. We at BCIMO are delighted to be holding a Family Day to celebrate 200 years of train travel as part of the Railway 200 year long celebrations.
BCIMO is the operator of the Very Light Rail National Innovation Centre, a unique, world class centre for rail innovation, based at Castle Hill, Dudley, West Midlands.
The event comprises a busy day of activities, with:
stands from local businesses and organisations,
fairground rides and attractions - including rides along our test track and through the famous Dudley Railway Tunnel,
music and entertainment
plenty of options for food and drink.
We are also delighted to announce that Pete Waterman OBE, President of the Railway Benefit Fund, will be our guest speaker and will open the event.
Our aim is to raise funds for 5 extremely worthy causes:

To ensure the event is a success, and we meet our fundraising target, we are looking for individuals, families and local/regional businesses to get involved. You can get involved in a variety of different ways, such as by:
visiting, volunteering or taking a stand at the event (costs £50 plus donation of a raffle prize),
helping us to promote the event, both in the run up to and during/after,
or through sponsorship and donations. We have a range of sponsorship packages available ranging from ‘Bronze’ at £250 through to ‘Platinum’ at £2,000.
