What do we do ?

All aspects of hearing assessments; hearing aid fitting and management of hearing loss for adults and children is offered by the Audiology service.

The Newborn Hearing Screening Programme for Dudley is also managed by the Audiology Team, as well as tinnitus counselling, balance testing and specialist diagnostic testing (referral from ENT required).

How do I refer or access the service?

For children we accept referrals from all Health Professionals (Ear, Nose and Throat Medical staff, GPs, Speech and Language Therapists, Health visitors, Paediatricians) and SENCOs. A referral form is required. We also accept parental referrals over the telephone.

For adults we accept referrals from other Health Professionals. A referral form is required - there are a number of different referrals forms dependant on the service being requested.

What happens once a referral is made?

Once a referral is made, you will receive a letter to arrange an appointment at a convenient time to you.

Following your appointment, a report is sent to the referrer detailing the results and requesting any further appointment, assessment, or treatment as appropriate.

Where are we based?

Based out of Brierley Hill Health and Social Care Centre the team work across healthcare settings including: Russells Hall Hospital, Stourbridge Health and Social Care Centre to support Ear, Nose and Throat Consultants.
